Moving is a hassle

Contributed by Maria Ruiz

Moving has been the biggest hassle in the world but I’m really happy we’re here and able to make this place a home at long last. I can’t wait until I get to unpack everything completely and paint the walls and really make the house look something like a home but for now I’m just glad we’ve got the http://www.direc4u.com/tx/a/abilene/ channels hooked up and locks on all the doors and things like that. I can’t imagine why people move all the time and HOW they do it…moving’s far more expensive than I remembered it being and that’s no joke! I can’t believe how much it cost between the movers and the truck and the paint and the boxes and all that and I had to get childcare for the kids for the whole weekend just so we could get some stuff done around the house. I just don’t know how military families and others like that are able to get it done quickly and so often, it just blows my mind.

Taking advantage of free manis at Fashion’s Night Out

Guest post written by Melanie Graft

I’m really into fashion, but not nearly as much as I am with beauty. So as soon as I saw that the event schedule for this year’s Fashion’s Night Out was posted online, I knew that I wanted to take advantage of it and squeeze as many things into it as possible. I thought I was going to die when I saw that Chanel in Soho was doing free manicures with their new fall colors that they released speciicially for FNO.

It ends up that there were so many great beauty events going on around the city that I had to make sure that I looked online and came up with a reasonable schedule for it. While I was doing that, I saw some info on tv internet bundles, showed it to my roommates and we decided to switch over our service to one of them.

I did go and get a manicure at Chanel done! I even broke down and bought one of their nail polish colors that were made special, even though I can normally only afford shades sold in drug stores. I guess you have to make exceptions for special events like that.

Alternative Degree Program – Chicago Residents

Many people in Chicago are looking to change careers. Some will take a chance and find a low paying job to get a foot-in-the-door at a firm where they may otherwise not have a chance with. Others will scrimp and save in order to afford continuing education courses at a local university. This can get very expensive. And then, there are those who stumble upon WaldenU.edu.

When you go to their website, you’ll discover that Walden University’s online degree programs offer equivalent coursework to that of local colleges and universities in the Chicago area. As it can be a challenge to commute in and out of the city, these programs will save you the hassle of driving or taking public transportation on a daily basis. You’ll be able to take classes from home and earn the degree you want. It’s especially helpful for stay-at-home moms and dads. You’ll save the cost of a babysitter and spend more of that valuable time with your family.

Walden University is one of a number of online schools and you should certainly compare them with other quality online institutions. Depending on your budget and the curriculum you with to enroll in, they may be a good option. If you find that this is a viable option, visit this link to learn about Walden. In any case, if you don’t have a college degree, it’s a good idea to get one either through them or another school. The Chicago job market is highly competitive and you’re going to need every edge you can get in order to earn a good living in the windy city.

Being a great example for my kindergarteners

Guest post written by Kandis Brewer

One of the things that I really love about being a kindergarten teacher is me remembering just how much I was influenced by others when it came to being a young student. When you’re that young and your friend says to do something, a lot of the time you do it because you trust people so much even if they don’t deserve it. Well, I decided pretty early on that I wanted to make sure that I would be someone that students and parents could trust and feel comfortable talking to me if they had any problems.

I like to make that visible to parents when they meet me, but it never hurts to come up with new ways to remind them on this. I went online a few weeks ago to come up with some new ways to encourage parent input and interaction in my classroom. While I was looking that up, I ran across the website GETCLEARWIRELESSINTERNET.COM. After I read through it a little bit, I decided to change over my home internet service to one of the packages that I saw on there. I found all kinds of advice on just really encouraging it. Then an anonymous tip box, which I’m going to try out too.

The Professional Carpet Cleaning Experience

Have you ever wondered why your expensive Persian carpet or throw rug does not look as clean as it used to some years ago? Even if conventional vacuum cleaners are used on your carpets every day, they remove very little of the grime and dirt that make your carpets look old and worn out. Let’s say for example, you move from the great city of Chicago to Austin Texas. It is time to see what carpet repair and cleaning austin, Texas has to offer.

Maintaining and Treating a Carpet

While most carpet maintenance can be done within the home or office, specialized cleaning and treatment can restore old carpets to their original color and brightness. Over time, hair and cloth fibers get tangled in the carpet fabric and are impossible to remove. Fringes tend to get knotted and clump together. Professional carpet treatment information at http://www.thesteamteam.com/ includes steam cleaning, shampooing, after-wash cleansing, drying and fabric enrichment. A well-cleaned carpet needs to be inspected before it is treated to ascertain the fabric quality and nature of the dye used so that the correct cleaning process is used.

Why Choose to Clean Carpets Professionally?

While washing a carpet and cleaning it with soap and water may be inexpensive, it may not completely restore your carpet’s original appearance. Unprofessional cleaning methods may even damage the carpet irreparably. Hiring the services of The Steam Team ensures that your priceless carpet is well protected.

Get a Ticket to Get Out of Town

This blog is about Chicago and how it compares to other cities. There are events in town all of the time, but what else is there to do? For starters, you can buy tickets to popular events in the area. And when you need a break from Chicago, try some other places around the country – take a road trip, hop on a plane, whatever works for you. If you’re a guy, then start out with some  Playboy Jazz Festival Tickets. Buying a block of these tix is a great way to impress clients. If they’re just not into it for whatever reason, then try music. Rick Springfield Tickets are always a great choice and they’re available in New York, California and many other places inbetween.

Sports fans probably won’t be into Rick Springfield. If that’s the case then try ordering some College World Series Tickets. If you’re from Washington State then Seattle Seahawks Tickets are a sure-fire winner. And if none of those appeal to you then just go with some Bamboozle Tickets and you’re all set.

Show tickets are always great. You can order them online or in person for any place across the country. So, give it a shot and book a show now!

The Beach Trip

Authored by Raymond Whitney

My godmother has always been a huge part of my life and since she didn’t have any children of her own, I wanted to make sure we did something special for her 50th birthday this year. Recently having signed up for http://www.clearwirelessinternetservice.com Internet, I decided that planning a weekend trip to the beach (her favorite) would be the absolute best gift possible. I found this a really good package deal and booked a trip for her, my mother, my sister, and myself. She cried when I gave her the gift which definitely meant I had chosen correctly, and we had the absolute best time at the beach on our girls weekend! We got manicures and pedicures incident the day at the spa in the next day we spent just lounging at the beach with margaritas and magazines. It was so relaxing and right up my godmother’s alley and I’m so glad I splurged on her birthday gift this year. If anyone deserves something special, it’s her, so I’m very thankful it all worked out.

Busy Work Life

The Author of this post is Solomon Dejesus

My job leaves me travelling a lot, and like many of you out there, it’s hard to have a life at home when I’m on the road so often. I like the freedom of being on the go but it’s difficult to maintain friendships and I know it’s really hard on my boyfriend. I even worry about my house since it’s on the “wrong side of the tracks” and went so far last year to sign up for a home security system I’d found on http://www.securitychoice.com/adt-home-security/Texas/T/The-Woodlands/. I love my job and the great opportunities it affords me but old habits die hard. I’ve always loved staying in hotel rooms and being a travelling consultant certainly allows me to do that a lot! One day I’m sure I’ll settle down and stop being gone so much but for now, this lifestyle suits me just fine. If only my boyfriend and his dog would understand where I’m coming from…he hates that he only gets to see me on weekends! I guess that’s better than the alternative, though!

So ya think ya got clout

Let’s face it: Chicago’s a town where ya gotta have clout to get anything done. Even if you’re one of our finest boys in blue, you still can’t get smack done without knowing somebody who knows somebody. Like they say in New York, fahgetaboudit!

You won’t find any city like Chicago anywhere in the world. That’s right, we got clout. You won’t find any place anywhere where people’s chins are so high in the air as our own, right here in Chi. Why? Cuz we got clout!

Clout isn’t just about who you are, it’s about what you stand for. People change the world here – politics, helping the homeless, illinois animal shelters, all kinds of things. Chicago is a memorable place and once you visit, you won’t ever want to go back to wherever you came from. Because, we got clout.
