I very much feared the idea of taking the enrolled agents, based on what I heard from friends who worked for the IRS before me. They told me the timetable to take the test as well as the exam’s structure. So, in other words, I was in for a huge wake-up call. October Baseball Right Around the Corner
Published September 12, 2012 | Within only a matter of a few weeks the 2012 Major League Baseball season will close, opening the door for the playoffs to commence. While some of the usual teams are primed for another long playoff run (insert New York Yankees, Texas Rangers, and San Francisco Giants), there are new teams that have risen to the occasion as well (the Baltimore Orioles, and the Washington Nationals.) With a combination of mainstays and new teams, this shapes to be one fun-filled assortment of nifty double plays, diving-to-the-ground web gems, clutch hitting, and flaming fastballs. I know, you can’t contain your excitement.
For the first time in a decade and a half, the Baltimore Orioles are in contention for an October run in September. Of course they’re in the same division as the Yankees, which will make winning the American League East more than a daunting task, but it’s impressive to see the young team make it to this point. How about the National’s? Who would have thought they would have, in mid-September, the best record in the major league’s? As unfathomable as this might be, this is a testament to how talented and how driven the team really is (look at players like Stephen Strasburg and Bryce Harper for clarification.)

The Olympics Are In London
Published September 28, 2011 | Folks, I think it’s time to face the facts…the 2012 Olympics are not going to be held in Chicago. But as sad as I am that our beautiful city isn’t going to host the games, as a diehard Olympics fan you know that I am still going to be travelling to London to see the games in person. But because I believe in being prepared anytime I live in Chicago, I decided to do some research about London first, through the site HomeAway. Now, if anyone wants to head to London to see the Olympics life, they will know exactly what they are getting into.
To begin with, it turns out you can find a nice place to stay at without destroying your bank account. There are plenty of London holiday apartments, and they have the benefit of being comfortable, aesthetically pleasing, and they’re affordable. Considering how much merchandise I plan to buy, finding affordable London Olympics accommodation was definitely relieving. I also found out that there would be plenty to do when I’m not watching the games.
Between visiting sites like the London Bridge, all the shops around London, and the crazy nightlife I doubt I am going to get any sleep. There are really too many places to list, so I really suggest that you check out the shopping and nightlife on your own.
But the real reason I’m going is to watch the Olympics. As a martial arts fan I’ll certainly be watching the Taekwondo, Judo, Boxing and Wrestling events. But my girlfriend has been a lifelong swimmer, so I guess I’ll be spending a lot of time watching Diving, Swimming, and Water Polo also. So to recap, at London I’ll find a nice place to stay, indescribable nightlife and shopping, and the games themselves. Are the London Olympics here yet!
Make Time For The Chicago World Music Festival
Published May 3, 2011 | If you love music, any music, then Chicago is where you are gonna want to be during the end of September. Why? Between September 16 through September 22 Chicago host their World Music Festival. Sure, lots of cities have festival for the music their town is famous for, like the blues in Memphis or jazz in New Orleans but these Chicago music festivals are World Music Festivals. This means they are global in scope. It does not matter what section of the music store you shop in it will be represented there.
Now, just how world is world? They mean the whole world. Since the first World Music Festival Chicago in 1999, this event has brought together over 500 performers from over 75 counties. It doesn’t matter what you already like or what you want to hear because it will be there, whether it is tribal from Africa, Ska from the islands or even just country music made right here is the USA it will be there.
While some of the largest acts will be playing Chicago Cultural Center it is one of many venues around the city that are participating with discount or even free admission to many of the acts. You will see music being played every where Some acts will be playing museums while others play plazas. There will be some in parks and yet more in clubs. Some of it will be in theaters and many more locations. It will be a week of music that any music lover should attend.
So if you are near Chicago or visiting Chicago, don’t forget to stop by Chicago Country Music Festival.
